Engeland verslaat in de finale gastland Australie met 2-0
England beats Australia 2-0 in 7 A Side gold match

A small but noisy contingent of the Barmy Army cheered the English 7 A Side football team to gold medal victory over the Australian side at Marrara Stadium on Saturday. The 2-0 final score did not tell the full story of the match.
“The game flowed freely from end to end,’ said Daymon Port, coaching and development manager for Football NT. “There were only a few changes in the game but that was enough for England to take the advantage.” The first goal was kicked in by Michael Wilson in the fourth minute of the first half. England’s Richard Fox scored the second goal in the first minute of the second half.
“It was a very good game of football to watch with both sides showing great skill,” said Mr Port. “Excellent passing game but we just couldn’t get a goal in.”
So the rivalry lives on. “It’s been a wonderful 7 A side tournament and we look forward to seeing them back in 2011,” said Mr Port. In the bronze medal match between Korea and Japan, it was a surprise 2-0 win to Korea over Japan.
